What Is Semaglutide
Semaglutide is a medication belonging to a class of drugs known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. These medicines are used primarily in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and, more recently, in medical weight management. Semaglutide works by mimicking the action of a natural hormone that regulates blood sugar levels and appetite. By slowing gastric emptying and increasing feelings of fullness, the medication can reduce calorie intake and support gradual weight reduction. In diabetes care it also improves insulin response and helps stabilize blood glucose levels.
